Know Where Steel and Concrete Are Heading This Week
A weekly check of public material prices, filed with source, location and date beside your own supplier quotes.

One Command, Every Monday Morning
The /market-prices skill checks public sources for the materials your organisation chooses to monitor and records what it finds in Pricing Database > Market.
- Current and previous price for each monitored item
- Source name and link, so anyone can check where a figure came from
- Location and the date the price was observed
- Unit, currency, group and a short note
- The server computes the previous price and the change, not the AI
Pricing Database and rate justification screens: rebuilt from the live product on a sample bid. Figures are examples; the arithmetic is exact.
What Each Market Record Holds
Ten fields per observation. The example rows below are illustrations only, not current prices.
| Field | What It Means | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Item | The material you monitor | Y-bar B500B |
| Unit | The unit the price applies to | t |
| Location | Where the price applies | Klang Valley |
| Price and currency | The figure observed | RM 2,700 (example) |
| Source and link | The public page it came from | A published price list |
| Group | How you organise the list | Reinforcement |
| Note | Anything that qualifies the figure | Delivered, excluding SST |
| Observed on | The date the price was seen | The run date |
How a Basic Price Is Chosen for a Rate
When the QS role builds a rate, it takes the most reliable figure you have, in a fixed order.
1. Latest Quote
Your newest supplier quotation in the Pricing Database.
2. Organisation Rate
The rate your organisation has set, with every change recorded.
3. Public Price
Market prices from /market-prices and the indicative library.
Volatile materials such as steel score a confidence of 60 when priced this way, and an extrapolated price scores 50. A rate you override yourself scores 100. The item's confidence is its weakest input, so a public price never hides behind a measured quantity.
The Pricing Database, Built to Remember
Item Catalogue
For every item: the lowest current price, the median, the number of suppliers and quotes, the newest quote and the market trend. Open an item to see its statistics, every supplier across all your projects, latest price, change, low, high, history and a chart.
Never Overwritten
Every price is kept. Organisation rate changes appear under Organisation Rates.
Stale After 180 Days
Old prices are marked so nobody prices a bid on last year's steel.
Trend Rule
Median of the newest 180 days against the median of the 180 to 540 days before.
AI Estimate
Prices the AI proposes are filed under the supplier "AI Estimate", kept apart from real quotes.
Only console administrators and named pricing editors can change the Pricing Database. To add supplier quotations, attach them and run /update-pricing-database: the AI reads every price, shows them to you to confirm, and records only the ones you approve.
A Starting Rate Library, Clearly Labelled Indicative
A new organisation is not left with an empty database. The defaults are indicative Klang Valley figures, each stored with its source and month.

These are reference points to get a first bid moving, not quotations. They sit below your own quotes and organisation rates in the pricing order, and the confidence score shows when a rate leans on them.
